Cancer and Whole Food Nutrition

In the most recent issue of Consumer Reports On Health magazine, there is a special report inside titled "Making sense of risks." It covers "today's best advice on prevention, detection, and treatment" of cancer. I have included below two paragraphs from the two page article that I thought readers of this blog could relate to:

Flu Shot Season is Here. What to do?

As we approach the winter months and temperatures begin to drop, we see the resurgence of the flu and colds. How do you get rid of your cold? How can you prevent yourself from getting a cold?

Fruits and Vegetables... A Smoker's Best Friend!

Public smoking bans are appearing in more establishments across the US on a daily basis. The right to endanger your own lungs publicly is dwindling. One of the main pushing forces of this movement is fear.

The media (with EPA disinformation) does a fairly good job at convincing the public that second hand smoke causes . This instills fear into the non-smokers at the local watering hole as people light up one after another to satisfy their nicotine addiction. This fear leads to massive movement and demand for public policy which in turn has led to this ban on smoking.

Wait a minute. This is a blog about and internally. Why does it sound like I am defending smoking as being acceptable?

No, I have not totally lost my mind. I have never been a smoker (thankfully) but I have watched many people become quite sick due to it and have watched some die from it. This article is in no way a pro-smoking publication. Stick with me to the end and you will see the connection.

I have recently read an article listed with the BNET Research Center called EPA caught red-handed on passive smoking. This article tells about how the EPA "had knowingly, willfully, and aggressively disseminated false information".

This article is further supported by the recent death of Dana Reeve, the late Christopher Reeve's wife. She passed away due to lung . She has never smoked and has never been exposed to significant second hand smoke. This leaves the question "what else, other than smoking, causes lung ?" This is one question that has the American Cancer society scrambling for answers but begs for more valid research to be done than simply claiming all lung is caused by smoking.

The BNET article also mentioned a website called The Fraser Institute. No, this has nothing to do with Kelsey Grammer. I went to this site and began reading some of the publication samples they have listed under the publications menu. I came across a book called The Misconceptions About the Causes of Cancer (Click the title to visit the link).

In this book (under the misconception 2 link) it states:
"Instead, other environmental factors have been identified in epidemiological studies that are likely to have a major effect on lowering rates: reduction of smoking, improving diet (e.g. increased consumption of ), hormonal factors (some of which are diet-related), and control of infections."


It's right there in front of you, let it sink in for a minute. An increased consumption of is likely to lower cancer rates. That's a powerful statement. How many of you eat on a daily basis? How many of you actually get the daily recommended doses of 5 to 9 servings of ? From reading this blog, you should know by now that the best source of comes from .

This book further goes into detail on each of the topics listed in the quote above. Under the smoking subtitle, the book says that "The oxidants in cigarette smoke, mainly nitrogen oxides, deplete the body’s . I also understand it is quite difficult for people to stop smoking. This book at least brings to light that smoking depletes your body of and that you most certainly need to do something about replacing them.

New Look, Same Mission

I am striving to make improvements daily to this blog. While I will miss the green background, I think black and white looks cleaner and makes it easier to read.

I will not stop my mission to educate everyone on . Check back soon (and often) as I will be including some videos in the blog postings.

I still encourage every one of you to do some research. Google the "dangers in our food supply" or " food concerns". That should give you hours and hours of information to sort through and educate yourself on.

You have to start educating yourself on these things. Don't ever believe big business has YOUR best interest in mind when they make decisions. It is all about the money!

In Loving Memory of Lorene Pittman

If you have lost any loved ones to cancer or are worried about it yourself, please read this article.

November 4th, 2001 was a day that changed my life, for the worse and then for the better. My mother was diagnosed with cancer in 1995. I was very close with my mother. She was my best friend. This hit me pretty hard as I had never thought about her mortality before. She did what most other patients would do, she had the surgery to get it removed and followed up with destroying her immune system with chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

I was in college and didn’t know any better. I assumed this was the best thing for her since the doctor’s recommended it. She went through with it and continued to live her life. Then in 2001, she discovered it had spread to a few other parts of her body. This time it was going to be fatal. I began to fall into a depression and then into denial that she was dieing. I continued to live as if I had all the time in the world. I didn’t know how else to deal with it, unfortunately I did not deal with it well. She passed away just before midnight on November 4th. I was a wreck. I was in quite a depression for some time afterwards. I still had my rough days for the next few years.

Then in December of 2005 my father told me that they had found tiny traces of cancer around his prostate. The emotions began again but this time it wasn’t depression, it was FEAR. Both parents had cancer, which means I am doomed. Realizing your own mortality is a difficult thing.

This led me to begin doing research. Not just reading an article here or there in my spare time but dedicating every minute of spare time to research. I would research for 4 to 5 hours a night reading books and visiting websites. What I discovered changed me forever.

Reading about the influence the pharmaceutical companies have over the government, the contamination of our food supply, the destruction or expulsion of inventions that would help society but hurt the pocketbooks of the medical world, the corrupt charity organizations …the list goes on and on.

When I read about numerous cures or natural treatments of cancer that were covered up or banned in the US, I was infuriated. The anger overtook me as I began to think that if I had done some research, I could’ve prolonged, if not saved my mother’s life.

I am not a doctor or medical professional but I do have advice to ALL of you. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH! It doesn’t take long to start to uncover the truths about the world and the possible cures that may exist out there.

Did you know that some research shows a tumor is the body’s natural response to cancer in the bloodstream? It is actually the thing that is keeping you alive as it is drawing in all the cancer to it and keeping it from spreading throughout your body. The first thing every doctor wants to do is remove it! Remove your body’s only defense. That way they can tell you they removed the cancerous tumor (but in reality they removed the defense system your body created to save you) and thus allow the cancer in your bloodstream to move freely to other major organs. Than they poison you and break down what’s left of your immune system with chemotherapy and radiation.

During all of my research, I discovered many articles and stories on whole food nutrition.
